Informatics Institute
The Informatics Institute's mission is to conduct both curiosity-driven and practical fundamental research, as well as provide high-quality academic education in various informatics fields.
Our research explores complex information systems, emphasizing collaborative, data-driven, computational, and intelligent systems across four main themes: Artificial Intelligence, Computational Science, Data Science, and Systems and Networking.
Rather than distinguishing between fundamental and engineering science, we prefer to focus on specific topics and approach them using methods from informatics and engineering.
As part of our research mission, we establish strategic multidisciplinary research connections both within and outside the University of Amsterdam.
