New ASCII art in our Intelligent Robotics Lab!

13.02.24

Since last week we have a new piece of ASCII art in our Intelligent Robotics Lab. It’s a portrait of Hiroshi Ishiguro (石黒浩)! Prof. Dr. Hiroshi Ishiguro is the founder of the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory at Osaka University, Japan. He is well-known for his work in developing humanoid robots that closely resemble humans in appearance and behavior.

Among his creations are some of the most lifelike androids the world has ever seen, including the Geminoid HI-series. As you can see on the wall and on the picture, the Geminoid HI-2 is Ishiguro's virtual twin. The Geminoid androids were created to better understand what it means to be human.

We think Hiroshi Ishiguro is in the right place in our home of digital innovation and artificial intelligence. May he inspire everyone to Answer Tomorrow’s Questions Together!

We have some other ASCII art pieces, in our meeting rooms. Like Ada Lovelace, the first computer programmer and Alan Turing.
